Waiting on Ducky, then we're off to Senoj's new fave watering hole I guess...

I agree with Flonker... if there's more business, or passengers, to be drummed up while carousing tonight, then let's do it. We loathe empty staterooms and empty cargo space, don't we guys? But if there's nothing more to be done, then let's call it a night (in the game) and move to the next plot points in rapid succession.

AFAICR, we have the following things coming up:
  • Getting everything in place so we can carry that load of mail.
  • Interviewing and hopefully hiring our doctor.
  • Dry run into orbit to meet Lit's old CO, and getting some parts or blanks or whatever help they can offer.
  • Finishing deciding our ship's itenerary.
  • Finishing the paperwork or whatever that will get us some minor priveleges with the Navy at future stops.
  • Finding out where we have to go or who we have to see about future work doing escort duty? Are we interested in that?
  • Some additional item that is presently escaping my mind. Red lights going off in the back of my brain means it must be pretty important...

I'd love to scam us up a loadmaster (guy who keeps track of the cargo, makes sure everything is balanced, etc).

Mebbe Fusil's 'old buddy the Chief' is still around...

Okay, I was just looking at this in the rules earlier today... but help me out here. What are the required crew for our ship?

I think LBB2 rules apply, we're under 1K. Pilot, nav, 2xengineers, commo/comp, doc, steward if we're hauling high passengers, gunner(s) if we're hauling mail.

Great, so we've just about got our whole crew!

GM, can we hurry along the acquisition-of-passengers part of the plotline once we've actually got an itenerary? I'd like to finish the preps part of the campaign and actually start doing stuff! [Sorry for getting antsy!!   ]

Technically, you need four engineers, but I said the system is automated enough to be able to handle it with three.

As for a loadmaster to track cargoes, etc.; if you are talking an NPC, and that would be me, no, I'd rather not have to do that.

Moving ahead is good though, I am in favor of that.

Can we assume with all the Merchant Marine and Naval experience amongst the command team, we can just assume we're sharing or rotating loadmaster duties, and just not have it be an issue?

Yes, though generally it will be done under finances.
