Chaco will check out ship's suit from the locker, sitting down at a gunnery console, before putting on his helmet, "Seems like I never left." Before activating the station and running through the test routines.

Scree is a little more unsure, though Chaco will give him pointers.

It takes 14.9 minutes to get to orbit at full thrust of 5G's; the scout needs 210 minutes from time on target to get to the 100D limit for a size 5 world (all data from CT ST 2 Charts, page 8). Leon pilots the 'Star well, only a few untoward vibrations or shimmying, while exiting the atmosphere.

The scout has
dragoner rolled 3d6 and got a total of 9:
4, 3, 2
x10 lead time over the 'Star.

Everyone on station exists in space, piloting, nav sensors, comms, and gunnery; heads-up displays inside helmets, with both realtime video, plus graphical enhancements, controlled by thoughts. 15 minutes flight to orbit, after 90 minutes scramble time, or 105 minutes, subtracted from the scout's 210 minute flight to the 100D limit, leaves 105 minutes. 5G's to the 100D limit from Aurelius (Theta Persei) is 133 minutes, leaving a gap of 28 minutes where the scout can jump; interception seems unlikely.

Cal is waiting for directions, at the computer using the "Generate; produces flight plans for jump" program.

So no parthian shots at the scout ...

Cal should roll 1d6+1 minus his skill for objective time in jump to Gliese 96, a jump 1 taking 10 tons of fuel. Soon enough, the hunters have become the hunted.

Leon can push the big red button as well as anyone.

j/k The ship's AI does most of the work, though there are redundancies such as glass cockpit, a stick, mostly it's done by helmet though.
