That's a long way... for 50k

Got most of the route down. Still can't locate Lamda Aurigae though.

Preventing the Imperium developing a "clone army" seems a worthwhile undertaking. We can trade our way there...

Ask for more, she will low bid, partially just to hide resources she can call on. A major story like this would be a goldmine of clicks across human space. Clone army or war world, it would make another war easier for the Empire to handle, with the ability to send in millions of troops, better than the last war, where it was overstretched trying to occupy all the colonies.

Lambda Aurigae is in Capella:

I forgot the "b" in Lambda.

Nevertheless, the frontier can be a lonely place, haunt of pirates, scouts, mercs, settlers, and bold merchants.

Thanks, I've got the route right in my head now.

In a character study between Nadya and Huli, both are very intelligent, B and C respectively, Nadya 22 going on 23, Huli 38, and even a vaster distance separates them by character. Where Nadya is warm, embracing, even sticky (esp for Elton); Huli is all sharp angles personality wise, such as if she is standing back for a camera shot, or if you reached out you would touch a pane of glass. This distance keeping might be feigned objectivity, many do trust her to be honest in a time where knowledge and deceit are coins of the realm; and Zhenya is correct in that she can help, however there is a danger that she can hurt as well with the same power.

Definitely similar, or like in other guerilla wars such as Vietnam.

Other issues, thinking of dropping the date stamp from the title of threads, thoughts?

Actually I like the date being part of the thread. It helps keep the timeline in sight - sometimes a lot happens, but only a day goes by, sometimes we jump ahead by days in a page. A visible marker on each new thread is useful. If it's not in the header, it ought to be somewhere equally visible.

It is less effort to keep it the way it is now, and the thought of changing it is just a random musing. The next thread will see a big jump in dates, from May 13th to May 23rd, and that will be T minus 3 days from the attack on the Yerkes Creek Power Plant.

Some questions:

How high can our "air-raft" fly? Can we use it to cross the fence/reach a building roof?

Can the Leshy submerge in the lake and remain hidden?

Can it move while submerged?

Can Steel Dust fly it without one of the crew at the controls?

Remind me, how many defenders? 8-12 fighters and a handful of techs wasn't it?

It looks as though there is a settlement East of the plant, about 9km away across the river - what do we know about that?

The air jeep is like a spinner from blade runner, so about 10km max altitude? Something like that, more or less in denser altitudes, so it can cross a wall or fence.

The Leshy could maybe go into the lake, but it's a dicey move, probably not what you would want to try if you didn't have too. It can move, though with a big fusion rocket underwater, it's going to be slow, and visible; radioactive too. One reason people use aerodyne vehicles mostly.

Czernbog now, yes, has pilot 0 or so; regular maneuvers are possible.

Plant has estimated 6-10 security, armed with sub-machine guns or assault rifles and wearing cloth, most likely a machine gun also; and three technicians, all lead by a Dr James Petronski, who is assumed to be an Imperial double agent.

It is Yerkes Creek the town, approximately 6,000 residents, with about 10 times that in the valley.
