Each grid square is 300 km to a side

Temps at Arx Theta is around 38-43 C in the summer, winter temps from around 5 to -5 C; the surrounding plateau of the Field of Mars is around 41-45 C (at 5500 m elevation). The Great Western Desert sees temperatures as high as 84 C, Hot Sands is somewhat cooler in the 70's C, with the jungle area around the lakes to the east is still very hot at temps of 60 C. Northeast of the central ridge is considered the wet side of the mountain, southwest is very dry, ending in the Great Western Desert.

Arx Theta is home to around 60,000 residents, where the whole plateau hosts somewhere near a million in various towns and settlements.

The area abounds with native fauna, including giant Bear (Ursoid) type creatures.
