He comments, having forgotten the name of the stuff.Bindoner wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 5:59 pmLaughing at the misunderstanding: "I mean the machine parts themselves, not the ballast that makes up the weight. That stuff, perhaps we cannot sell. I hope we can barter it, but perhaps we ought to bury it somewhere. If we do not have it aboard with us we can trade it's location for some advantage."Kuerzu perks up at her words. "Are we talking about the same machine parts?" He asks, unsure if there were more that he was unaware of.

Cal doesn't find much, rummaging through people's luggage. In the mail, someone has written about the death of their son, a condolences card, how they had been a merc/guard at a fusion reactor on Pryp'yat in the Delta Trianguli system (http://dragonersdomain.com/forum/viewto ... 467#p13019) included in the message is a purple pearl earring. The message also talks about how that the Representative Democracy of Vijaya (RDV) is trying to slowly extricate itself from the colony of Pryp'yat, and that RDV military is being replaced by mercenaries.

When talk of Switzerland comes up, Chaco is like "Switzer-where? Never heard of it." As he keeps on searching through the personal effects which are becoming quite a pile of, clothes, bags, and shoes. Theta, standing knee deep in the detritus of other people's lives, finds nothing of interest, and Grack, just finds a shirt, sort of like a Hawaiian shirt tailored for Yagatchya, with four arm holes, he dons that as he continues to rummage, not finding much else of interest.

Looking at Grack in his new shirt Zhenya finds amusement winning over horror: "And I thought you couldn't look any worse."
( Grack is still a trigger for terrible memories, but Zhenya is getting used to having a monster around - still, best if he doesn't appear suddenly. Or scuttle on the walls.)

Poor Grack.
I have been looking at how to get rid of garbage in space, the surest way is to load it into a vehicle and guide it back down into the atmosphere.
This NASA Q&A talks about jettisoning garbage:
Earth's gravitational field pulls a lot of space trash into lower and lower orbits until it finally reaches Earth's atmosphere. Most of the trash burns up when it enters Earth's atmosphere. The higher the altitude at which it orbits the longer the space trash will remain in orbit. Space trash moving in orbits lower than 600 km normally falls back to Earth within a few years. Space trash orbiting at altitudes higher than 1,000 km can continue circling Earth for a century or more.

Leon could make a pilot roll? Might leave it in orbit for a while though.

Re: 4/16/2211 Conspiracy Theories
Hopefully the greater gravitational pull of GG will speed things up. Adding momentum to the jettisoned junk too. Perhaps an EVA to give an extra push to the containers? Worst comes to the worst, we'll call it target practice.Post by dragoner » 17 Jun 2019, 03:10
