Nowhar shakes his head as he returns to the boat muttering "If he want's to stay out there and freeze or get eaten no one can say I didn't warn him."

While Ranse is brewing the coffee he will busy himself finding the least cringeworthy survival ration flavor he can and offering to get one for the others.

During and after dinner discuss and study the sensor readings and tomorrows plan of action.

On the sensors, Nowhar gets a blip moving around behind the mounds, looks to be man sized or a bit larger.

Dax looks attentive at the mention of plans, if for nothing else, to break the boredom.

Doc asks if someone wants to mention to Khaek that he is about to have some company, who wants to have him for dinner? If it is possible and we brought the drone, Doc will fly it out and see if he can get a long distance overhead view of the area and then bring the drone down slowly to see if there is anything there.

"How comfortable do you feel piloting a drone again, Doc? We could send it into the open mound during the dark, see if there's anything in there. I can go out and check on him while you're working on that...someone want to come out to cover me for the walk over so we don't break the buddy rule again?" he asks while awkwardly climbing into a spare suit. He hits the comm's transmit, "Khaek, stay alert...FNG got a man-sized blip on the far side of the mounds. Coming out to cover."

Sending the drone out of the ship, straight up and then flying around a little while I bring it down slowly is about all I feel comfortable doing. Having said that, I am in the middle of nowhere, a frozen nowhere and light years from a comfortable five star hotel with room service and a hot tub!!! I will try to fly it where you tell me to. I will just go slow and not try anything fancy.

Going slow with the probe drone, the Doc brings it (it actually has an autopilot feature) over the wrecked center mound, as it hovers over the opening, it the distance, the motion detector on it detects something moving towards the crevice, some sort of large animal probably, moving quickly away from the drone. The top of the mound has been blasted through, with rubble collapsing into the interior, on top of something, a ship maybe, all covered in snow and ice. The various sensors, IR/LI, Geiger counter, and EM probe; show it is very dark, and there probably was a ship inside the mound.

Doc will make sure the creature is moving away from Khaek. He will ask if he should investigate some more tonight or wait until tomorrow? Doc is also glad the drone has the autopilot function, that way he can operate the controls and the drone will make him look like he knows what he is doing.

OoC - I think I should start reading the drone manuals and working with drone simulations while in Jump Space.

Khaek nods, though no one is around to see it. "Understood. I'll keep an eye out. This wreck is really fascinating. I don't think I've ever seen a Vargr vessel like this.". He says as he continues his exploration.

Nowhar studiously observes Doc's handling of the RPV and when he asks if he should bring it in for the night replies "I'd love to familiarize myself with the controls if you don't mind?" Then waits for an answer.

Doc hands the controls off with a smile. "It is all yours!"

"Thanks Doc. I'm going to take a quick tour around the plateau and a peek at the crevice."

Taking a hand at the controls and getting a feel for their responsiveness and sensor suite before taking a look at the exterior of the Crevice, noting any man made structures or damage. If the probe has a laser range finder or radar use that to get an idea of the depth before dropping down slowly to take a video or 3D picture while descending at a very safe rate.
