OoC: Drone operating skill is remote operations. The drone is a 30cm/12in. diameter sphere, it's on page 95 of the core rules.

The auto-pilot feature helps Nowhar get it to the crevice, though there is steam coming up, interfering with good sensor readings, the motion sensor can detect some motion, it looks like two animals; and there is an opening on the north side, regular sized, such as for a corridor 3m x 3m.

Nowhar calls everyone over to the probe screen. "Well looks like my instincts were correct and there's something down there. Not sure if I should push it since we don't have much light left or hit things back up in the morning. What do you lads think?"

"Looks like a seismic event opened up a lava tube; by the tremors, I bet this whole area is unstable." Dax notices.

OoC: Decision point, do you want me to move it along to the next day, or go in at night?

Ranse finishes his suiting-up athletics, trotting across the distance to the downed ship and hoping someone's paying attention just in case.

ooc, can FF if nothing's going to happen. Or FF to whatever's going to happen.

Nowhar looks skeptically at the group. "Wait one tic gent's. I thought the plan was resume in the morning. Have you ever tried to navigate on foot in the rough on this planet at night. It's absolutely treacherous with all the hard ice formations. It's also exhausting trudging through all that. Not to mention we know of at least 3 large fairly large creatures out there. Let's map things out some more with the probe then hit things fresh in the morning."

So the sun comes up over the windswept alpine wasteland, somewhat mitigated by the nearby volcano, which if not for it, the base would be sealed under tens of meters of snow and ice. In the night, the wind howled and there were some creepy sounds, but ultimately uneventful.

Khaek opens one eye, then the other and sits up from his spot inside the wrecked hulk. HE keyes his comm as he stands. "This Khaek checking in. I'm still alive over here." he says as he makes his way to the opening he came in through. "Not sure how I'm gonna get back up though." He says.

Dax, drinking a cup of caf from the emergency rations, hears Khaek's call, "We're on it, buddy, hold tight."

Munching a protein bar, he comes into the cargo area of the Ship's Boat where everyone had crashed out for the night, "Rise and shire, sleepyheads, looks like we got fifteen cm of snow last night, Khaek needs someone to take a rope to him to get out."
