Topic Names -- In and Out of Character

Post by forbin » Fri Dec 27, 2013 11:41 am

Rob, are you doing a new topic for each game day? Or just breaking them where it seems a natural break? (I'm guessing the latter, though when we're not in jump, it will often be one-per-day.)

The reason I'm asking is that it's going to get complicated to go back and find things historically as the game progresses further. So, for the "game play" topics only (i.e. In/Out of character in "The Game") why not preface the topic name with either a game day counter, or the Imperial Date?

Game days, it would be something like:
005 Raising Ship
006-012 Our First Jump

(just making up titles there)

With Imperial dates, I'd recommend reversing year and day so they sort correctly:
1110/137 Raising Ship
1110/138-144 Our First Jump
1110/365 Ship's New Year's Eve Party
1111/001 How We Detox'd the Crew

If you feel the ranges look sloppy, we could leave out the 2nd number. Or put a number of days in parens.
006(7) Our First Jump
or
1110/138(7) Our First Jump

What do you think?

I did do dates on my old campaign, I can do it that way again. I'm not creating new topics per game day, but at around 10 pages, more than that and it gets hard to sort through them. As the crew interview proved, there is no way of telling how involved a situation might become, which is totally fine by me, everything is going great as far as I am concerned.

I like "every 10 pages or so." Works for me.

Any kind of numbering system will do as long as it helps us find things and keep things sorted!
Of course, I'm also not forgetting we DO have a search function!

Had to shorten the one name to get the dates to fit.
